The culinary icon that has become Goodfellow’s Restaurants began over 10 years ago with the introduction of Goodfellow’s Italian Chop House and Sports Bar. The concept of the restaurant was imagined and established by Executive Chef and Partner Keith Lynch in 2002. He began envisioning the restaurant in 1992 as he attended The Florida Culinary Institute in West Palm Beach. While obtaining his degree in culinary arts, he interned at La Vielle Maison of Boca Raton, Florida, a Mobil Five Star and Five Diamond French restaurant. Over the next five years, he studied under the world-famous chef Richard Ruiz, quickly earning the position of Sous Chef. In 2002, Lynch moved to Mackinac Island to make his dream of becoming a restaurateur a reality.
With the help of his brother Geoff Lynch and co-partners Chris Modd and Ira Green, they renovated the old pilot house inside the historic Lake View Hotel, creating an inviting Tuscan-inspired dining room, and a warm upscale sports bar that welcomes guests today. Over the past decade, Goodfellow’s Italian Chop House and Goodfellow’s Sports Bar have become recognized as one of the most popular establishments for vacationers and locals alike.
